Thank you for considering the new Vaccaro & Stevens barrels and bells. Clarinetists performing on our aftermarket clarinet equipment seem very pleased with them and we trust you will like the barrels and bells as well. If you would like to replace that shoe box of barrels with a single barrel and find a bell that will improve the overtone series and response on your clarinet we invite you to try our products.
Each barrel is hand made separately on a lathe and then hand tuned and voiced to bring out the maximum quality of each piece of wood and to provide superior intonation and stability in the upper register and throughout the clarinet.
Because of our manufacturing process we obviously do not mass produce barrels though we do have a stock on hand of most sizes all the time. We will make a barrel for you personally when ordered if we do not have one of your size in stock. There will be a slight waiting period for the barrels we custom make for you. Although our barrels work on most clarinets, talk to us about sending your clarinet so we can match specifications exactly. Barrels are generally available from 64mm to 67mm including half sizes. Other sizes by special request only.
We make barrels from African black wood and cocobolo wood. Other exotic woods of your choice are available for an extra fee.
Please remember that each barrel has an individual personality and will play richer as it ages and you play it. Also, turn the barrel by eighth turns to see in what position it plays best on your particular clarinet.
 The cost of the Classic Barrel is $265.00 US. The normal tax and shipping costs (cost depends on how you want it shipped) will be incurred.
Of course the best results occur if you can bring or ship your clarinet and mouthpiece to us so we can match the barrel exactly to your instrument. This allows exact measurement of your equipment and allows us to voice a barrel to fit your instrument. We are confident that even without a custom voicing you will hear the difference in our product.
Our bells are now available in cocobolo wood with a blackwood tenon insert and cost $600.00. As with the barrel the normal tax and shipping costs will be incurred if and when appropriate.
You will find our new bell design will give you a richer overtone series, a smoothness of sound and an ease of playing. Like our barrels they are hand made on a lathe, hand tuned, and hand voiced.Like the barrels you should turn the bell by eighth turns until you find the ideal playing position.
